Video of Interactive Workshop & Information Session Day at UC Berkeley

Spring 2012 Z-Lab Undergraduate Research Apprentice, Rosa Navarrete, made a video of our Information Session on May 1, 2012. It demonstrates Lisa Wymore's work with the Dance Department at UC Irvine--John Crawford's dance and technology program. It is simultaneous video streaming. The process is ongoing in order to calibrate and optimize both Berkeley and Irvine's internet network.   Z-Lab is hosting a multi-site symposium this November 9-10 called Virtual Venues: Exploring Materiality and Gesture Within Live Streaming Events. More information coming soon.

I had a great two days at UC Irvine, part of the Virtual Venues project. It was nice to see the fantastic new Contemporary Arts Center which has the highly adaptable black box space called the Experimental Performance Media Lab, along with a Meyer Sound design studio, a Performance Capture studio, a costume design studio, offices, meeting spaces, and more! It is a truly inspiring place. I look forward to working with the UC Irvine Dance Department, as a continuation of the Virtual Venues project next fall.

We will be co-hosting a symposium on November 9th and 10th, 2012 in the Z-Lab and the Experimental Performance Media Lab.

Look for information very soon.
