The Z-Lab is run by Lisa Wymore, Associate Professor of Dance/Choreography within the Department of Theater, Dance and Performance Studies at UC Berkeley. The Z-Lab explores sensor-based choreography and collaboration, multi-location performance, and real time/embodied technology explorations within performance.
The Z-Lab is located in Zellerbach Hall on the UC Berkeley Campus. It has various wall and ceiling mounted projectors, a lighting grid, dedicated internet gigabit hubs, multi-speaker sound system, numerous sensors and cameras, configurable chairs and tables on wheels, microphones and audio equipment, and dedicated computer hardware and cables for various performance scenarios. Undergraduate Research Apprentices and Graduate Research Assistants help staff and run the lab.
The Z-Lab will begin hosting Creative Salons every semester where artists, engineers, and scholars interested in technology and performance can come together and share ideas and experiments. If you are interested in being considered for one of these events please contact Lisa Wymore: email@example.com
